Creekmoor Foul Pumping Station, Poole
Analysis of system performance and flooding problems
Improvements were needed to Creekmoor FPS, arising from inlet works modifications at Poole STW. Static head was raised from 3.0m to 9.0mAOD, with consequent problems for pump performance and local surface flooding at Creekmoor.
FPS and sewer modelling was undertaken by the consultant to examine system performance, including storage and overflow components.
Revised system curves were computed so as to correctly model the hydraulics of the rising main. Tidal effects also had to be assessed as the station overflow is submerged at MHWS.

Flooding around the FPS was shown to result mainly from lack of inlet capacity at the station, rather than rising main inadequacy. Several scheme solutions were developed and modelled, the favoured one being an off-line storage scheme nearby.
